The Glenhardie Gators Swim Team is an instructional swim team. While there are many different abilities of swimmers on the team, the overall goal is to have a fun-filled, team oriented attitude instilled in every swimmer. Swimmers, parents and coaches are all expected to work towards this goal.
The Glenhardie Gators Swim Team is a member of the Schuylkill Valley Aquatic League (SVAL). The league itself is run by volunteers and consists of 8 volunteer-run swim teams: Glenhardie, Picket Post, Whitpain Green, Mermaid Lake, Audubon YMCA, Upper Merion Swim and Tennis, White Manor and Beachcomber. Dual meets take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings beginning in mid June and continue through July. The league tries to make sure the host team for each dual meet rotates each year. In addition to the dual meets, there are 3 Championship Meets that include all teams. These take place in late July and include Relay Champs, Jr. Champs (12 & under) and
Individual Champs (all ages). Entries for Individual Champs are limited to 240 entries per team. The coaches select the swimmers that will participate in the Relay and Individual Championships. In order to be eligible for Relay and/or Individual Championships, the swimmer must attend 3 of the scheduled meets. All swimmers 12 years old and under, who are not attending the Individual Champs, are welcome to compete at the Gold Championships. The team hosting the championship events is on
