Glenhardie Swimming Program
The mission of the Glenhardie Country Club Swimming Program is to provide life long memories to the families providing the finest programs and facilities in the Wayne area. The Glenhardie Gators swim team is open to ages 6 - 18 years of age. A minnow program is also being offered for all young swimmers. The Staff also offers lessons. Meets are held on Tuesday and Thursday evening. Pratices are held every weekday morning in the summer, until early August.
All members and their families are responsible for registering themselves and their guests on arrival at the pool area. Guests must be accompanied by a member unless specific arrangements have been made with the pool manager. Guest fees will be charged to the member's account. Parties of more than four guests must be arranged with the pool manager. Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests. Pool use may be restricted mornings during the swim team competitive season. The pool will close at 8:00 p.m. for home meets. The Pool season will be posted.
The Swimming Pool
- Membership cards are to be presented upon entry at the pool.
- No running, pushing or throwing anyone into the pool. No rough games, horse play, wrestling or other conduct affecting the safety of other swimmers is permitted. No one is permitted to sit or play on or climb over any fence or stone wall into the pool area.
- Battery operated audio equipment will be allowed as long as the volume does not disturb others.
- No glassware of any kind is allowed past the main entrance to the pool area. The use of plastic containers for lotions, drinks, baby bottles, etc., is recommended.
- Only beverages are permitted in the pool area. All food is restricted to the snack bar terrace areas, (no food past the guard gate) and NO FOOD ALLOWED IN THE LOCKER ROOMS!
- All swimmers will wear bathing suits; no street wear is permitted in the pool. No diaper-clad babies are permitted in either pool.
- Beginning swimmers may use the main pool only if approved by the pool manager. All children under the age of ten must remain in the shallow end of the pool unless they have passed a swimming test consisting of one length of the pool.
- No child under ten years of age may be in the main pool area unless accompanied by an adult who will be responsible for the child's conduct.
- Adults have priority over children with regard to the chairs and chaise lounges.
The Wading Pool
- Each child in the wading pool area MUST be directly supervised by the parent or a baby sitter who is fully responsible for the child. NOTE: THE WADING POOL IS NOT UNDER CONSTANT SUPERVISION BY A LIFEGUARD.
- No children over the age of six are permitted in the wading pool.
- Water toys are permitted in the wading pool, the pool manager reserves the right to restrict any toy which in his judgment, may provoke a problem involving safety or convenience to other swimmers.
The Snack Bar and Terrace
- Snack Bar hours will be posted; it will not be open during inclement weather when the pool is closed.
- All food and beverage purchases will be charged to the member's account number.
- During Snack Bar hours, all food and beverages consumed in the pool and terrace areas are to be purchased at the Snack Bar. Food and beverages are NOT to be brought to these areas from outside the club. Exception to this rule is covered in House Rule 14.
Pool Season Hours
Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend
Weekdays: 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Weekends and holidays: 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
