General Rules on the Golf Course

Glenhardie 9 Hole Golf Course

  1. All players must sign in at the golf shop or, when the golf shop is closed, with the course ranger. Members must complete a charge slip showing the cost of greens fees for guests, and any cart charges prior to commencement of play.
  2. Ideally, players should play in foursomes to speed up play, and single and twosomes are encouraged to make up to foursomes whenever possible in order to maintain a steady flow of play and eliminate excessive waiting periods.
  3. The practice range and green are for use by members only, and practice balls must be obtained from the golf shop.
  4. Membership Bag Tags, available at the golf shop, should be prominently displayed at all times.
  5. The course should be played in the proper sequence starting at Hole #1, unless special permission from the Golf Professional, Golf Committee or Ranger is obtained to commence elsewhere. Players should never commence play at any hole other thane #1 unless there is at least one clear hole behind them.
  6. Each player must have his/her own bag and set of clubs.
  7. Excessive practice on the course is not permitted.
  8. Please remember that each group of players should keep up with the group in front and not just keep clear of the group behind.
  9. If a group loses one complete hole, they should call through the following group as and when practicable.
  10. Maintain proper etiquette on the course including the restricting of excessive noise, replacement of divots, repair ball marks on the greens and the raking of bunkers. Please leave the rake in the trap after use.
  11. Players should not participate in excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages on the course or its environments.
  12. Players using gas carts are requested to obey all signs regarding routes on the course and particularly to observe the rule of keeping the cart at least 30 feet from any green.

If you require a handicap, there is an activity fee payable to the Golf Committee; contact the golf shop. We endeavor to maintain the above conditions to ensure that every member and guest can properly enjoy their golf at Glenhardie. Have a good round!

Golf Rules

Glenhardie 9 Hole Golf Course

The Glenhardie Golf Course is essentially a private operation where only members and their guests are allowed to play. However, from time to time, we do accommodate visiting parties by approval of the General Manager, particularly in conjunction with the use of the Clubhouse and/or Restaurant. As at all clubs, it is necessary to establish rules of dress, etiquette and playing and those are as follows:

Dress Code

In order to provide a comfortable atmosphere and yet maintain a proper decorum, the following dress code applies:

  1. Shorts of "Jamaica" or "Bermuda" length are quite acceptable, but short (tennis or running) shorts are not. "Jeans" of any design or length are not allowed on the course.
  2. Traditional golf shirts with collars and sleeves are required. "T" shirts and "Tank Tops" are not considered to be proper attire.
  3. Golf shoes with steel spikes are prohibited. Sneakers are allowed.
  4. We realize that ladies' fashions are constantly changing. Therefore, our only suggestions regarding tops, shorts, skirts and slacks are that proper and reasonable modesty be maintained. Footwear for ladies is to be the same as (3) above.
